The Emirate of Sharjah is just a 15 - minute drive from Dubai when the roads are traffic-free.The city blends the old and new cosmic Arabic culture. Our first stop is at the Sharjah University which is said to have the largest university complex in the Middle East. We start our journey at the Cultural Square all the way to Majahrah souk as we admire the intricate mosaic patterns and golden dome. Al Naboodah House is a150-year-old building whereby we witness original Sharjah settlement and a traditional 'coffee shop' famous for mint tea. We also pass by the Pearl Monument -a symbol of UAE Federation.
Just across the majestic King Faisal Mosque, we arrive at the fabulous 'blue souk' officially known as the Central Souk. The exquisitely designed Arabian-style souk has a large number of shops selling carpets, gold, silver, antiques, perfumes, and clothing. Finally, we depart to the Emirate of Ajman, where we visit a historical museum housed in an ancient fort.
